EVENT 2013

GENBAKU NO HI 2013 stands as an event in connection with the Worlwide Peace Movement.

The annual event took place in the Rotunda of the United Nations
Vienna, where several speeches and statements were made and dozens of KOINOBORI were hanging by the group kokemoos.
Every year throughout Japan, on 5th May (Children Day), these objects are let into the sky and symbolize "the wish for a better world for the next generation".

An artistic performance was given by KOKURYU TAIKO. This group
consists of 4 drummers who perform in the Japanese traditional style. The Taiko-play and dance are a popular folk-custom, followed throughout Japan to the present day.

Yuko Gulda continuously aims to hold an international day on 8th August to remind people worldwide of the danger of atomic energy.

The NGO Committee on Peace Vienna and Ms. Yuko Gulda, in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs Vienna, invited to the 2013 GENBAKU NO HI celebration "Commemorating the Victims and Calling for a Ban of All Weapons of Mass Destruction" on August 7th 2013 at the
