MILESTONE AT
THE CHERRY BLOSSOM PARK
On April 22nd 2015 was the opening of the "Cherry Blossom Park" in the 22nd district (located near the station Kagran of U1, between Albert-Schultz-Halle and the Prandaugasse School, entrance via Ogugasse). On the occasion of this event a milestone was unveiled and donated to the city of Vienna by the association Genbaku No Hi. This milestone is a plea for a world without nuclear weapons or power.
The former head of the district council of the 22nd district, Norbert Scheed, who died in 2014 had campaigned for this object. With the aid of his successor the new director Ernst Nevrivy it was possible to carry out this project to completion.
Wir leben stets in Atomgefahr und Kriege sind nach wie vor um uns. Dieser Mahnstein steht für eine Welt ohne Waffen und gegen die Atomkraft.
We live in a world where war and nuclear danger can happen anywhere. This milestone is a plea for a world without nuclear weapons or power.
核の恐怖、そして終わることのない戦争に明け暮れる世界 これが正常だという認識にならない事を願って!
